There are a lot of outside cats in our neighborhood. One of them, Samantha, had some kittens. We did not know this until one day when she brought these two out for nursing next to our garage. We trapped them and named them Sam and Max. We were going to socialize the kittens and then take them to the Humane Society where we hoped they would find good homes. The first part of the plan, the socializing, went well. But when it was time to take them away, we just couldn't let them go. (We did also trap Samantha and had her spayed, along with her sisters, cousin, nieces, and nephews. We trapped and spayed or neutered 13 cats that summer.)
